Collaborative working with artists, volunteers and historic houses

Upton House and Gardens, near Banbury, Thursday 18 June, 11.00 – 16.00

There are just a few places left on a special field visit to one of the highlights of New Expressions LIVE season 2015 – artist Yelena Popova’s ghostly installation The Collector’s Case at Upton House near Banbury.

Fast approaching on 18 June, this unique opportunity is part of the New Expressions summer field visit programme.

The field visit is one of series of three events, each of which offers all those with a professional interest in innovative, creative collaboration between artists, museums and communities, the chance to combine a ‘Go See’ opportunity with skill sharing, networking, and round table discussion.

Speakers on the day include Rachael O’Connor-Boyd, Upton House’s super-energetic Visitor Experience Manager; a representative of Upton’s committed team of volunteers; Tom Freshwater, manager of Trust New Art (the National Trust’s contemporary art programme and a member of the New Expressions Board and Judith Robinson, programme manager of New Expressions.  Sheila McGregor, the consultant leading New Expressions’ research to determine whether there is an appetite to develop a Subject Specialist Network to underpin future joint creative risk taking, will lead the afternoon’s consultative debate.

Booking for this event is brisk, and a cross-section of artists, curators and academics from across the country has already booked to participate.  There are a handful of places left and we expect them to fill fast.
